For yet another year, participation from businesses and organizations was particularly high, while the level of competition was strong, making the selection process of the winners especially difficult. This reflects the growing strength of the Cypriot business community in the fields of innovation and applied creativity, as well as the wide recognition that the institution has gained over its 19-year course.

The winners of the competition will be officially announced during the Awards Ceremony, which will take place in the near future.

The Innovation Award competition is a flagship initiative of OEB, held annually since 2006, and is regarded as the highest distinction for business innovation in Cyprus. Over the years, the competition has honoured the achievements of dozens of companies and organisations that have proven Cyprus to be a source of inspiration, creativity, and applied innovation.

Eligibility and Categories

Eligible to participate in the competition are:

• Private sector businesses/organisations operating in Cyprus that have implemented an innovation and can demonstrate its successful application.
• The Innovation which they are applying for, should be successfully implemented within the last three years.
• The application must concern an innovation that falls under one of the following categories:
  • Primary Sector
  • Manufacturing Sector
  • Services Sector
  • Social Innovation

Highest Distinction 

The OEB Innovation Award has been recognised by the European Commission as a best practice, and enjoys the full support of the Republic of Cyprus, following a decision by the Council of Ministers through the Deputy Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy and the Research and Innovation Foundation (RIF).

This year’s competition has been included in the programme of events for the European SME Week , organised by the Directorate-General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs of the European Commission — a further European-level recognition of OEB’s longstanding contribution to the promotion of innovation and business excellence.

Award Ceremony 

The Innovation Award competition will culminate in an award ceremony for the winners, which will be held jointly with the Research Awards of the RIF, during the first quarter of 2026, within the period of the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the EU. As in previous years, the President of the Republic of Cyprus will be invited to present the awards to the winners.

The inclusion of the OEB Innovation Awards in the SME Week is yet another European-level recognition of OEB’s longstanding contribution to the promotion of innovation and business excellence. It reaffirms OEB’s role and mission as an institutional representative of Cypriot enterprises both nationally and internationally.

The European SME Week is an annual pan-European campaign aimed at promoting entrepreneurship and creating a business-friendly environment that enhances the competitiveness of SMEs, with innovation being an integral component. The campaign is coordinated by the European Commission and includes various events throughout the year under the motto “Promoting Enterprise. Every Week. Everywhere.”

The OEB Innovation Awars is a flagship initiative of the Federation, organised annually since 2006, with the aim of recognising businesses and organisations that have successfully implemented innovative ideas — whether through new products, services, or processes — that substantially improve on what previously existed. 

The OEB Innovation Award have become an established institution and are considered the highest distinction for innovation in Cyprus. It has been recognised by the European Commission as a Best Practice and is fully supported by the State, through a decision of the Council of Ministers, by the Deputy Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy and the Research & Innovation Foundation (RIF).

The 2025 Innovation Award Competition will be officially launched in the coming period and will culminate with the awards ceremony in the first half of 2026, during the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

Οι διακρίσεις

Ο θεσμός των Κυπριακών Βραβείων Καινοτομίας της ΟΕΒ συμπληρώνει φέτος 18 χρόνια επιτυχημένης παρουσίας και έρχεται να επιβραβεύσει τις επιχειρήσεις που άφησαν το στίγμα τους στον τομέα που δραστηριοποιούνται. Συνολικά θα απονεμηθούν από την ΟΕΒ τέσσερα βραβεία Καινοτομίας σε Κυπριακές επιχειρήσεις, που αφορούν στον πρωτογενή τομέα, την κοινωνική καινοτομία, τον τομέα μεταποίησης και τις υπηρεσίες.

Το ΙδΕΚ θα απονείμει συνολικά έξι Κυπριακά Βραβεία Έρευνας για «Διακεκριμένους Ερευνητές», «Νέους Ερευνητές», καθώς και το Βραβείο «Εμπορικής Αξιοποίησης Ερευνητικών Αποτελεσμάτων», κλειδί για τη μετατροπή της επιστημονικής έρευνας υψηλού επιπέδου που παράγεται στη χώρα μας.

Άρχισε η διαδικασία υποβολής υποψηφιοτήτων για το Κυπριακό Βραβείο Καινοτομίας ΟΕΒ 

Πότε λήγει η προθεσμία και ποιοι τομείς βραβεύονται τη φετινή χρονιά 

Η Ομοσπονδία Εργοδοτών και Βιομηχάνων (ΟΕΒ) ανακοινώνει την έναρξη της διαδικασίας υποβολής αιτήσεων για τον 18ο Διαγωνισμό Κυπριακού Βραβείου Καινοτομίας της ΟΕΒ σηματοδοτώντας τη συνέχεια ενός θεσμού που αναδεικνύει την αριστεία και τη δημιουργικότητα κυπριακών επιχειρήσεων και οργανισμών. 

Ο διαγωνισμός στοχεύει στην ανάδειξη και επιβράβευση των πιο επιτυχημένων καινοτόμων ιδεών, που έχουν υλοποιηθεί στον πρωτογενή τομέα, στον τομέα της μεταποίησης, στον τομέα των υπηρεσιών, καθώς και στον τομέα της κοινωνικής καινοτομίας. Με την υποστήριξη του Υφυπουργείου Έρευνας, Καινοτομίας και Ψηφιακής Πολιτικής και του Ιδρύματος Έρευνας και Καινοτομίας (ΙδΕΚ), η ΟΕΒ συνεχίζει να προωθεί εδώ και σχεδόν δύο δεκαετίες την καινοτομία στην ανάπτυξη του κυπριακού επιχειρείν, της οικονομίας και της κοινωνίας. 

Ανώτατη διάκριση 

Το Κυπριακό Βραβείο Καινοτομίας ΟΕΒ αποτελεί την υψηλότερη διάκριση για καινοτόμες πρακτικές και δράσεις στην Κύπρο. Μέσα από την πορεία που διένυσε ο θεσμός, ανέδειξε τις επιτυχίες δεκάδων επιχειρήσεων και οργανισμών, που με τις ξεχωριστές ιδέες και πρωτοβουλίες τους απέδειξαν ότι η  Κύπρος μπορεί να αποτελέσει πηγή έμπνευσης για καινοτομία στο επιχειρείν. 

Επιχειρήσεις και οργανισμοί που στοχεύουν στη διάκριση, τη διαφοροποίηση και την ενίσχυση της ανταγωνιστικότητάς τους μέσω της καινοτομίας αναμένεται ότι θα δείξουν και φέτος έντονο ενδιαφέρον για το διαγωνισμό. 

Η τελετή βράβευσης 

Μια λαμπρή εκδήλωση θα φιλοξενήσει την τελετή απονομής των Κυπριακών Βραβείων Καινοτομίας ΟΕΒ στις 26 Μαρτίου 2025, όπου ο Πρόεδρος της Δημοκρατίας θα τιμήσει τους νικητές για την επιτυχημένη υλοποίηση των καινοτόμων προτάσεων τους.
